Rostov Region plans to increase exports of high-tech products to Spain
Prospects for expanding cooperation and issues of investment cooperation between the Rostov region and the Kingdom of Spain were discussed in the framework of a business conversation in the Don government.
In the dialogue took part the Deputy Governor Yuri Molodchenko, the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Papushenko, the Chief Adviser on Economics and Trade of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in the Russian Federation Viktor Audera, the expert of the economic and trade department of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Russia David Feihoo and Victor Ventimilla-Alonso - Honorary Consul of the Kingdom Spain.
Opening the meeting, Yury Molodchenko stressed that the Don region remains one of the most attractive subjects of Russia for doing business.
"The advantages of our region are a favorable economic and geographical location, progressive investment legislation, a developed infrastructure for business support," he said.
The key issue on the agenda was the activation of foreign trade relations between the Rostov region and Spain. It was noted that in the first half of 2017 the foreign trade turnover amounted to 38 million 800 thousand US dollars.
"The government of the Rostov region is interested in expanding the range and volume of mutual deliveries with the kingdom," Yury Molodchenko stressed. "The priority is the export of high-tech products from Don enterprises to Spain."
The Rostov region already has a certain positive experience of high-tech exports with the kingdom: the advanced Don factories - the factories "Guardian Steklo Rostov" and "Atlantis-Pak", Novoshakhtinskiy oil products plant, Aston and Golden Seed - successfully interact with Spain. Another enterprise-exporter of the Rostov region - the factory "Waterfall Pro" - plans to present its products in the Spanish market.
During the meeting, the ways of further development of cooperation between the Rostov region and Spain were outlined. Among the key areas are renewable energy, agribusiness, tourism, infrastructure projects.
As a result of the delegation's visit, an agreement was reached on the visit of the Spanish business mission to the Rostov region.
"Businessmen will be able to present their own projects to the Don entrepreneurs," Maxim Papushenko explained. - Our region has repeatedly hosted business missions from other countries: the Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden, China, Hungary. Such meetings have confirmed their effectiveness."
